IT之家 3 月 18 日消息，虽然 Adobe Flash 已经宣告“死亡”，但出于怀旧等各种理由，依然有不少用户对这个过时、存在诸多漏洞的 Flash 感兴趣。开发者近日推出了名为 Ruffle 的开源项目，利用 Rust 编程语言来安全地模拟对 Flash 的支持。
Adobe 于 2020 年正式停止对 Flash 的支持之后，也出现了 Gnash 和 Lightspark 等开源项目。
Ruffle 是一个用 Rust 编写的 Flash Player 模拟器，可以在所有主要操作系统上运行，并且通过 WebAssembly 也可以在现代网络浏览器中运行。由于 Rust 的内存安全保证，他们认为这是 Flash 的安全实现。
Ruffle 于上周公布了第一份进度报告，可以运行数十款基于 Action 2 的游戏，此外也开始添加对 Action 3 的改进，并优化移动设备的显示效果。
